Blocking numbers one by one does nothing — they just rotate. What has actually reduced spam calls and texts for you long-term?
Carrier filters, apps, registering on do-not-call lists, silencing unknown callers entirely? Curious what works in different countries, since the spam situation seems very different depending on where you live.
What actually moves the needle: (1) Enable your carrier’s own filter first — most have a free spam-call service that blocks at network level, before your phone rings. (2) On-device: silence unknown callers (iOS) / Caller ID & spam protection (Android). Real contacts leave voicemail; robocallers don’t. (3) For SMS: never tap unsubscribe links in spam (it confirms your number is live) — use the report-as-spam button instead, which trains the network filter. (4) The long game: stop the leak. Use a secondary email/number for shops and sign-ups; your main number only for humans and banks. You can’t un-leak a number, but you can stop feeding the next list.
