Frontend, backend, hosting — what’s working for you right now?
For solo projects, I can ship pretty fast enough with Next.js + VPS + SQLite. The more managed services you stack, the more your monthly costs and complexity grow, so lately I’ve actually been going in the direction of reducing my setup.
For starting small, there’s been an uptick in good examples of “returning to proven tech” with HTMX + server-side rendering. I really relate to the idea that framework learning curve itself is the biggest enemy of shipping speed.
